giveBIG on June 23 is chance to get matching dollars for DCNA

Friends of DCNA:

Great news: If you make a gift to DCNA on June 23, the Seattle Foundation will chip in as well!

DCNA has been able to accomplish a lot over the years thanks to your generosity. For those of you have already given using the contribution envelopes in our newsletter, we thank you! And for those of you who haven’t gotten ‘round to that…or want to give more…the Seattle Foundation’s giveBIG event on June 23 will make your contribution go further:

  • Donations made through the Seattle Foundation’s GiveBIG website between 7am and midnight on June 23 to qualified organizations – like DCNA – will earn an additional gift from the Foundation and local businesses sponsors.
  • And you can win a Golden Ticket, too! When you make your donation, you could be chosen at random to entitle DCNA to receive an additional $1000 from GiveBIG’s sponsors.
  • The amount of additional funding DCNA earns through GiveBIG will depend on how much we receive on June 23 from folks like you, so… please…give BIG!

We have plenty of great things to do with the donations that come in: trail restoration and trail mapping in O.O. Denny and Big Finn Hill Parks, reforestation in the Juanita Woodlands and Big Finn Hill Parks, outreach to schools for environmental education and restoration programs, our DennyFest neighborhood celebration on September 18, and long-term planning for Finn Hill so that we can balance urban growth with healthy streams and accessible green space throughout the neighborhood.

Here are a few things you can do to make GiveBIG a success for DCNA:

  • · Mark your calendar! Be sure donate to DCNA between 7 a.m. and midnight on June 23 through the Seattle Foundation’s giveBIG page:

  • Rally your friends to support DCNA on June 23!  Email, Facebook, Twitter (#GiveBIG), phone calls and even in-person conversations are great ways to spread the word and help us take advantage of giveBIG.

Thanks, and we hope to hear from you on the 23rd!
