Kirkland Parks — October 24 and 25 events to review possible bond and levy

Funding for Kirkland Parks – Open House Events on October 24 and 25:  The city is looking at options for a bond and levy to support city parks and recreation services.  Some of the options include acquiring new properties for parks and green space (particularly for underserved areas, such as the eastern side of Finn Hill), developing recreational facilities (including an indoor gym), and acquiring the Eastide rail right-or-way that runs through Kirkland. The city has scheduled two open houses so that Kirkland residents can learn more:

Monday, October 24, 2011
North Kirkland Community Center, 12421 103rd Avenue N.E.

Tuesday, October 25, 2011
Peter Kirk Community Center, 352 Kirkland Avenue

Residents can drop by either open house anytime between 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

The Parks and Community Services Department is also encouraging residents to either take a brief on-line survey. You can learn more, and take the survey, at: http://www.kirklandwa.gov/depart/parks/Boards___Councils/Park_Funding_Exploratory_Committee.htm. (Note scroll down to the bottom of the page to locate the survey link.)
