A shout-out for DennyFest volunteers

Many thanks to all of you who came to DennyFest! You can’t celebrate without celebrants, so the FHNA volunteers who organize DennyFest are always thrilled to see their neighbors come down to O.O. Denny Park to enjoy the music, the food, and some old-fashioned community meeting and greeting. If you enjoyed yourselves, and if you have ideas on how to make the event even better in 2013, please let us know! You can comment here or post to our Facebook site.  Check out the amazing Finn Hill DennyFest 2012 Video

And let’s give a big round of  thanks to the team who worked so hard to pull everything together. Here’s a partial list: Meg Tally Hunt (our COE –  Chief Organizer Extraordinaire), Francesca Lyman (our musical impresaria), Jim Lloyd and Brian Loveless (masters of the Bouncy House, aka les marechals du Chateau de Saut); Kathy Maynard and Becca Baisingthwaite (queens of watercolors and glue guns); Marlien Paine (princesss of the Pie Table); Kristin Pascal (captain of Company C – as in Chili); Marsha Christensen (mistress of the hounds – our dog show coordinator, of course), Alex Bard (the herald of the hounds – dog show announcer), Bobbi Bakony (the leader of the pack – coordinator of the kids’ event at the dog show), Ted Marx and Bruce White (barons of the BBQ and, in Ted’s case, the recruiter of the fire department’s presence at DennyFest), Kurt Brunnenkant, Ellen Haas, and Anne Fleming (the All-Knowing Genii at the FHNA booth), Sofia Schaub and Amanda Bushman (official DennyFest shutterbugs), Brain Freinik (our Mover and Shaker and all-round king of logistics), Jon Pascal, Louis Berner, and Matt Pruitt (Finn Hill’s finest roadies), Jeff Hoerth (local channeler of David Letterman) and  -last but not least – Ed Hunt (the Voice of the Fest, aka Meg’s good-natured spouse and event emcee).

A big thank you is also warranted for our musicians, our magician, and  our many sponsors. To learn more about them, check out our website in the coming weeks. We’ll post a full DennyFest report soon.
