City Leaders Present Park and Road Levy Proposals

Wednesday, October 3 – Open Meeting to Review Kirkland Roads and Parks Levies: As previously announced, FHNA sponsored a neighborhood meeting  in the cafeteria of Finn Hill Jr High (132nd and 84th) to review Kirkland Propositions 1 and 2 on the November ballot.

The meeting started at 7pm with neighborhood updates. Presentations on the levies began around 7:30pm.

City staff  summarized Proposition 1, a levy for road maintenance and traffic improvements, and Proposition 2, a levy to maintain and improve Kirkland parks. Speakers for and against each proposition made  presentations and answered questions from the audience. If you want to learn more about each measure, check out the city’s fact sheets on Proposition 1 and Proposition 2.

  • The FHNA board has unanimously voted to endorse Proposition 2, the levy that supports parks. See separate post for more information.

Complete update on the meeting and topics will follow.
