Kirkland’s StyroFest Upcoming Events

Kirkland’s StyroFest Upcoming Events

Kirkland’s monthly StyroFest recycling events divert materials from landfill. The next weekend-long event begins on February 28.

Since starting its unique plastic foam and packaging material recycling program three months ago, Kirkland residents have diverted an estimated 90 cubic yards from the landfill. StyroFest is the City of Kirkland’s collection event held on the fourth weekend of the month at the Public Works Maintenance Center located at 915 – 8th Street. The popularity of the events and continued positive feedback from the community has inspired Kirkland staff to continue the events through 2014. Residents can continue to drop off their clean white dry plastic foam (including clean cups and food containers) during designated weekends. Additionally, foam (all shapes and sizes), plastic film, bubble wrap, and grocery bags are accepted. Packing peanuts are not accepted.

Upcoming StyroFest weekend events will be held from Friday at 5 p.m. until Monday at 6 a.m.

  • Friday February 28th to Monday March 3rd
  • Friday March 28th to Monday March 31st
  • Friday April 25th to Monday April 28th
