Annual Meeting Wed 7pm March 23

Annual members’ meeting – Wednesday, March 23: The Finn Hill Neighborhood Alliance is holding its annual meeting next Wednesday at the 7pm in the Finn Hill Middle School cafeteria, 8040 NE 132nd Street. We’ll elect new board members at this meeting; if you live in the Finn Hill neighborhood, you are an FHNA member, and we hope you’ll come to cast your vote. Unlike other political events you’ve seen on the news, our meeting will be G-rated: no profanity and no fisticuffs.

Here’s what’s on the agenda:

* Board elections

* Finn Hill neighborhood plan – update

* Regulations for development on steep slopes and sensitive area – update (including a video recap of our 2014 landslides meeting)

* Juanita Drive Corridor improvements report

* Lake Washington School District bond referendum

More information about the agenda will be provided via email and on our website during the next week.

* Finn Hill neighborhood plan online survey – available until March 21: As you may recall, we held a neighborhood plan meeting last month with the City of Kirkland and our planning consultant, Green Futures Lab. We are working on a summary that we’ll post on the neighborhood plan page of our website. But if you missed the meeting, or just want an additional chance to express your views, you should definitely take the online survey that GFL has developed. This is not a run-of-the-mill questionnaire with overly general questions. The survey provides some excellent information about alternatives for Finn Hill and then invites you to offer informed opinions. Please check it and speak your mind!

* Hazardous trees on Holmes Point Drive – removal work to be performed by City: The City has plans to remove several hazardous trees along Holmes Point Drive at the Juanita Woodlands and it has heard from many Finn Hill residents about the risk of additional trees falling across the northern end of Holmes Point Drive. It plans to do site assessments next week and will then schedule tree removal work. We’ll keep you posted as to the dates on which trees will be removed; portions of Holmes Point Drive may be closed temporarily while trees are being cut down.
We hope to see you on the 23rd!

    I’m unable to make tomorrow’s meeting. Can you please send me the list of people running for board openings? Thank you very much.
