Giving Tuesday is November 28 – help FHNA expand Juanita Heights Park build a Green Loop around Finn Hill

Dear Finn Hill neighbor:

We hope you had a great Thanksgiving.

The Finn Hill Neighborhood Alliance has a special reason to be thankful this year. We just signed an option to buy over 4 acres of beautiful forest next to Juanita Heights Park (a gem that’s located at 124th St. and 89th Place). Working with the City of Kirkland and King County, we’re expanding the park and creating a woodlands path to the base of Goat Hill – the Billy Goat Trail. It’s all part of a long term vision for a Green Loop that will circle our neighborhood with a continuous corridor of trails and open space. We’re thrilled that the cornerstone for this project is now in place.

But we need your help. November 28 is Giving Tuesday, and we hope you will make a tax deductible contribution to FHNA on Tuesday so we can continue to preserve the greenery that makes Finn Hill a special place to live.

Our initial goal is $10,000 – that will cover our option cost and position us to pursue other land acquisitions with the City and the County. And your gift on the 28th will go just a bit farther thanks to several Goat Hill residents, who have generously pledged to match the first $2500 we raise on Giving Tuesday.

Are you in? You can contribute on the FHNA website’s donation page. Click on the Donate button in the middle of the page. You can specify “Land Acquisition” on the donation page.

Giving Tuesday is a chance for you to save Finn Hill’s woodlands – forever. Now that’s something to be thankful for. We hope it’s an opportunity you’ll take advantage of.

With thanks for your support in the past and – we hope – in the years to come.
