Xmas Boats A Blazing Success

This year’s Xmas Boats came to O.O. Denny Park at sunset on Sunday. The Finn Hill  Neighborhood (FHNA) gave them a huge welcome. Nearly 600 people cheered as a huge  bonfire lit the night. Luminarias lit the way. The dry, mild weather added to the celebration. The carolers on the boats were easily heard and they had a great program of Xmas and Hanukah songs. FHNA volunteers handed out over 300 hot chocolates, and provided the bonfire, luminarias, and equipment. Donations to cover the cost of the event are greatly appreciated. They can be made...

Christmas Ships Emerge from Misty-Fog Cloaked Sky

The mist gave the Christmas Ships a ghostly appearance as they drifted emerging from the fog in front of  O.O. Denny Park late Sunday afternoon. The ships’ reflections on the grey water swayed in the windless night. About 20 ships accompanied the Argosy Christmas Ship while The Pacific Sound Chorus performed a range of holiday classic songs. Hot chocolate under holiday lights and a huge bonfire warmed the several hundred people who listened to the songs from the drifting flotilla. This year the ships came early to O.O. Denny Park at...
