DennyFest

DennyFest is September 17, 2016!

Live music, a dog show, and the ever-popular Chili cookoff and Pie bakeoff are all on the menu of DennyFest this fall. So mark your calendars and make plans to stop by and join in. This year’s date is Saturday, September 17th, rain or shine, for the Finn Hill Neighborhood Alliance’s annual September “swan song to summer” festival.

What else can you look forward to? As in past years, there will be kids’ activities, guided nature hikes, and a barbeque. Also in store may be tours for kids of a few of the fire engines. An eclectic variety of other events are in the works, but more volunteers are needed.

Live music again this year, more to come as we book musicians.

If you can pitch in with your creativity or ideas, please use the contact form to volunteer.

All Finn Hill residents and friends of Finn Hill Neighborhood Alliance are welcome to come and encouraged to share their talents and help. Details continue to be worked out, and plans will be announced as they are finalized.

DennyFest, always in O. O. Denny Park, will be held from 12 to 4 pm near the Clayton Rich Memorial Shelter. There is no admission charge.

DennyFest Schedule for Saturday Sept 17

Saturday, September 17 – DennyFest!: Say farewell to summer at our annual neighborhood bash in O.O. Denny Park. As usual, we’ll have great music — the Geoffrey Castle Band and the Finn Hillbillies — and magic, and a dog show, chili and pie contests, games and sports for teens, a bouncy house for the kids, and crafts, and free food and drink. This is a terrific event for the whole family.  And, yes, we can use volunteers to help with set up and clean up. And we are always looking for the next great chili or pie recipe, or the...

DennyFest 2015 in Pictures

This year’s DennyFest was held after a rainy morning and in the wake of a Seahawks season opener that didn’t turn out the way the 12th Man wanted. But DennyFest was the perfect antidote to cloudy skies and deflated football fans. Several hundred Finn Hill residents came down to O.O. Denny Park and were treated to fantastic music, great burgers and hot dogs, a selection of pies and a tasty pot of chili. We had arts & crafts and a bouncy house for the kids, a massage tent for those who once were kids but are now feeling their age, and a dog...

A walk down DennyFest memory lane

The Top 10 Reasons to go to DennyFest from the past five years. Along with chili, pies, and dogs (both the edible and barking kinds), DennyFest wouldn’t be what it is without our annual list of reasons why you need to attend. Jeff Hoerth, former president of Denny Creek Neighborhood Alliance (now the Finn Hill Neighborhood Alliance) and the person who inspired the first DennyFest seven years ago, is the ghost writer of these lists. In a couple of days, we’ll issue Jeff’s list of reasons why need to go to DennyFest this Sunday. But if you want...
